Tatacoa Magazine

The first issue of Tatacoa, a 38-page magazine on the myths and legends of Colombian oral tradition: El Sombrerón, La Llorona, El Tunjo, El Fraile, Las Mandingas and La Mula de Raflés, among others. The subject was set by the faculty.

We made it as a team with Alejandra Segura and David Pajoy, fellow students. I took the cover, the back cover and the contents page, the El Sombrerón, La Llorona and El Tunjo sections, and the illustrations for Lethal Charm, El lamento del bosque and El Fraile.

We were after a layout that broke with the conventional magazine, which is where the split headlines come from: they run across the spread and force you to open it fully to read them. That was the part that worked best when we handed it in.
